Craniosacral for Autism

thumb-craniosacral-for-autismWell, Dale had an awesome experience last week.  She was asked to give a  craniosacral session to a ten year old boy who is on the “spectrum”!  Needless to say she was very excited, and a little nervous!  No more!

The parents showed up with their other child, a younger sister.  The boy was quiet but very “active” and curious, always looking around.  He is taking Ritalin to make him fit in better at school, and the parents wanted to get him off the drug.

Dale told the parents that the normal session is about 60 minutes, but because he was autistic that 30 minutes would probably work better.

She performed the session with no issues.  (Whew!)

The mom called her 3 days latter and said the child has been MUCH calmer since the treatment!  She is hoping the these sessions will hopefully substitute for the more conventional treatments.  We will see if the school notices the difference!

She has another appointment this week, I am sure that craniosacral therapy can be used in an effective way to help this child.

We hope to help this child through natural methodologies!

To you health!

CranioSacral Therapy – A Wonderful Addition to Our Practice!

CranioSacral

For the past year Dale has been studying CranialSacral Therapy at the Upledger Institute, and we are now offering this wonderful therapy in our new offices in Greensboro NC.

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a light touch therapy. It releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole body health and performance. CST releases those tensions to allow the entire body to relax and self-correct.

Using a gentle touch, the weight of a nickel, practitioners evaluate your internal environment. Then use light touch techniques to release any restrictions they find. This frees the central nervous system to perform at its’ best.

Every day you endure stresses and strains and your body absorbs them; but your body can only handle so much tension before the tissues begin to tighten and potentially affect the brain and spinal cord.

CST has been know to relieve a full spectrum of pain, illness and dysfunction, including:

  • Migraines and Headaches

  • Chronic Neck and Back Pain

  • Stress and Tension-Related Disorders

  • Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries

  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorders

  • Chronic Fatigue

  • Fibromyalgia

  • TMJ Syndrome

  • Central Nervous System Disorders

  • Learning Disabilities

  • ADD/ADHD

A CranioSacral Therapy session lasts approximately 1 hour and takes place in a quiet, peaceful, private setting. You remain fully clothed as you relax on a comfortable padded table.

The therapist monitors the rhythm of the fluid that is flowing around your central nervous system. By carefully listening with the hands to locate areas of weak fluid flow or tissue motion, your practitioner can trace those areas of weakness through the body to the original source of dysfunction.

Delicate manual techniques (can even be used for infants!) are then used to release those problem areas and improve the form and function of your central nervous system.

I have been the lucky receiver of Dale’s practicing, and it has really made a difference in my shoulder issues!
