Magnesium – Not Just For Cars!

When I was a young man, I new magnesium was an element and I associated it with Mag-wheels used for hot cars!   Little did I know that magnesium is a very important nutrient for the human body.

Magnesium is one of the nutrients that are required for maintaining normal bone density, normal cardiac rhythm, normal pulmonary function, and normal blood glucose regulation. Magnesium is one of the most common global deficiencies and it plays a role in correcting many of the more common health issues facing people each day.  Magnesium deficiency plays a major role in many diseases, possibly more than any other nutrient.

More than half the population are not getting what they require on a daily basis.  It has become more critical nowadays because our bods’ need it to help in the detoxification process, and we all know how toxic our environment has gotten over the last few decades!

There are many links between magnesium deficiency and the disease state:

There should be a 1:1 ratio between calcium and magnesium, but the ratio among the population is more like 5:1 up to 15:1!  This is leading us all down the path to an unbalanced disease state.

Ancient Minerals Magnesium Oil

My wife and I use “Magnesuim Oil”, a product by “Ancient Minerals, LLs Magnetic Clay”,  it’s very easy to use and is good for many things such a sore muscles, and we even use it for a deodorant!  It comes as a spray, a gel, a lotion, or as flakes to put in a bath.  Much like Epsom salts (magnesium sulfate) but the affects are longer lasting with Magnesium Oil (magnesium chloride).   It’s a great experience, and very calming to the muscles!
By the way, even though it says OIL it is NOT!  It mixes very well with water.
Good food sources of magnesium include grass fed dairy products, pumpkin seeds, raw cacao, unrefined sea salt, avocados, sea veggies and wild caught fish, and using supplementation is an excellent way to insure that you get what you need!
